HOLOFIT’s engaging competitions meant higher member retention than ever before!
Gram gym, Tokyo is a high end gym in Tokyo city centre, with more than 4,000 members. They have added HOLOFIT to their cardio floor in February 2018 as monetization and retention tool.
Anyone in the business can tell you that one of the major problems fitness centers face is member retention. The same was the case for our gym.
Thinking about solving this issue, we decided to test whether better member engagement would positively affect member retention.
To engage our members, we tapped into the competitive human nature. We started organizing small member competitions and people really did seem to like them.
However, we realized that to truly take advantage of this potential, we needed something interesting enough for members to join, and something that they could do individually and whenever they wanted, as opposed to having to organize competitions where the number of members participating would be pretty low for obvious reasons.
HOLOFIT worked perfectly for us. We are using the screen at the reception area to show the leaderboard and weekly news, and we’ve added another one at the HOLOFIT Innovation Zone.
Not only are the members more engaged, but they are so excited that they gather and cheer each other on. I have the sense that our community is really starting to form!
Needless to say, our retention rates haven’t been this high in a long time!
